November Artist Spotlight: ERIAUS

This month's artist spotlight is shining on local performer ERIAUS. ERIAUS is an artist whose music is heavily inspired by 80’s pop music, classic rock, and music from the 2000s. At its core, the musician’s music is pop, but woven into it are elements of a retro 80’s sound with current pop melodies and production.

You may recognize this artist from previous shows with Live Acts under the name Eric Gray. The performer has recently revamped his branding amidst his first single release “Oblivion”, which hit all streaming platforms this past month. “Oblivion” was two years in the making and originally started out as just a school project until the inspired 80’s synth track was brought together with lyrics, and from there on out, it was destined for something much bigger. The single is about realizing that you are the reason that your relationships have never worked out.

ERIAUS is a name that I made as a way to fully express my artistic side. I always felt that when I am on stage, I become a different person. I become more confident, more serious, more free. My real name never resonated with me musically, and I always felt that the person who is on stage is quite different from the person who is off stage. So once I found the name ERIAUS, everything just felt right.

The single has marked just the beginning of ERIAUS’ new path in the local music scene. You can find him performing at the Railway Club on November 14th, which will be his first show under his rebrand. The artist will be joined by close friends and fellow local performers Mac Ramsay, Nimkish, and Serena Sun. Grab your tickets below to join ERIAUS and friends at the Railway Stage and Beer Cafe.
