Artist Spotlight: The Zozzled Hepcats
The Zozzled Hepcats are five musicians from Vancouver who all found their way to swing after years of playing in different bands. We're passionate about bringing this music to new audiences and creating nights that people want to be part of. We believe live music is at its best when the crowd is dressed up, the dance floor is full, and everyone leaves with a story to tell.
How would you describe your sound to someone who's never heard you before?
We pull inspiration from 1940s swing and jump blues, the swing revival movement of the '90s, a bit of ska, and even some rock and roll.
More than anything, though, we want our shows to feel like an event. We want people to get in their best suits and dresses and experience a style of music that often flies under the mainstream radar. Whether you're a lifelong swing fan or hearing it for the first time, the goal is the same: have a great night, dance, and leave wanting more.
What's next for The Zozzled Hepcats? Any plans for new music on the horizon?
With a handful of new original songs, We are in the midst of working on our first project which will be a full length album. With a little faith, we aim to get this released by fall.
