MACMANN is a Vancouver-based indie rock artist from Ireland, built for speed, starting mosh pits, and occasionally, having a little cry. Fast-paced guitars, thumping drums, and hard hitting bass collide with angry (often comedic) lyrics that stay brutally honest. MACMANN is loud, real, and demands a reaction.

For those who haven’t heard you yet, how would you describe your sound? What are some of your key influences?

Influenced by the likes of The White Stripes, Bloc Party, and Artic Monkeys, I primarily write fast paced indie rock tunes with a clear cut goal, create a mosh pit you can't help but join. I'll write the odd slow number too, but that's mostly so I can catch my breath.

On your socials, you’ve been doing a fun reoccurring challenge of writing songs by selecting a voice note on your phone at random for a while now. What have you liked the most out of doing this challenge? How has it helped your writing process?

The thing I enjoyed most about the challenge is the the creative pressure it places upon myself. After a long day, there are times when the last thing I want to do is think about writing, but having that pressure of 'you've only got x days before this track needs to be released' is a great way to get that pen moving!

I can't explain how much it has helped my writing process. Having such a strict timeline forces me to accept imperfection. And while, I'm not ashamed to say, this has led to me writing some truly terrible songs, it's also created some songs I'm very proud of, and even plan on re-recording for an EP. If you want to strike oil, you got to dig through the dirt!

Any EP or Album release on the horizon? What can you tell us about it?

Yes! I plan on releasing an EP the Summer of this year. My first single 'Code Red' is set to drop in late February. The EP will be sure to break a few speakers, whether that is from the hard hitting tones or people physically breaking their speakers to stop listening, remains to be seen.

The year is still young! What are some goals you have for 2026?

3 big goals:

1. Release the EP

2. Play a festival

3. Crowd Surf (at least once)
