January Artist Spotlight: Filmspeed
We are kicking off 2019’s Artist Spotlight with our January pick, Filmspeed. The Trio is best described as two parts Motown, one part Tinseltown, and all parts moving. Filmspeed combines blood pumping anthems, melodic hooks, and soulful grooves; creating a sound that is uniquely their own.

Their most recent album release “Hexadecimal” in 2017, was a definite milestone for them, not only as a band, but as individuals as well. They rode through many ups and downs together, which are now inevitably transpiring them towards exciting new releases and tours within the next year. The band will be releasing two new singles on January 18th called “Bless My Soul” and “Shakey Love”. In comparison to their previous releases, you can expect the rock level to be kicked up a few dozen notches.
As a band that is dedicated to the stage life and thriving on the live music experience, they are about to embark on their “Consistently Off” tour. The title of the upcoming tour stems from the band’s podcast also titled “Consistently off”. Where they not only give the fans a further looking into the Trio’s dynamics, but they also highlight all the ways the band continues and strives to do things a bit differently than most. The upcoming tour consists of dates throughout North America, and they will be kicking it all off here in Vancouver. You can catch Filmspeed at the Railway Stage and Beer Cafe on Monday, January 21st, alongside local artists The Fallaways, Wise Youngblood, and Rumour Mill.
